Family Fair

When its’ come to fruits & vegetables and related agro & other products in Sri Lanka, there are two main market structures; Fairs (Pola) and Supper Markets. There are advantages as well as disadvantages in both the systems. One of the main problems in the fair structure is the quality and reliability where as in the super markets; consumers have to pay a premium price. At the same time, there is no place that urban consumer can regularly purchase products quality fruits, vegetables, village products and other consumables as well as home needs. In order to provide the consumers with complete market experience, CAD will invite major producers and distributors of food and grocery items to sell their products directly from factory to the consumers. Other mode need like home garden products; eco friendly products, health and herbal products will also be available in the market. The concept of Family Fair is to create a market structure lying between fair and super markets where urban consumers can purchase their weekly requirements. Quality of the products as well as stall display will be maintained at a very high standard and will be strictly monitored by CAD.

The main objective of the Diyawanna Family Fair is to develop a direct market platform for agro producers and other products demanded by urban consumers where they can purchase quality products at best price from reliable suppliers. Apart from the main market platform, there will be an exhibition stalls in every week where consumers can purchase directly from manufactures as well as provide companies with exhibition platform to exhibit and sell their products. Family Fair will be held in every Wednesday from 11 am to 10 pm at Diyatha Uyana, Battaramulla starting from 04th September 2013. There will be 150 stalls in two pavilions named as pavilion A and B.
