CAD Organized a Delegation to Horti Asia 2014

CAD, under its market development and capacity enhancement services, organized a delegation of 21 members to Horti Asia 2014, “One of the Asia’s Leading Exhibition in Horticulture Sector”, with the objective of exposing and facilitating Sri Lankan agribusiness and farmers to latest technology and facilitate market linkages. The exhibition was held from 08 to 11th May 2014 in Bangkok International Exhibition and Convention Center.





SME Fair in Trinco - Great Success

Centre for Agribusiness Development (CAD) organised Trinco SME Trade fair  in Hindu Cultural Centre, Trincomalee from 22nd to 25th February 2014 with the participation of 80 SMEs, BDS providers and banks. In parallel to the trade fair, business seminars and business clinics were also organized in order to enhance the business knowledge of SMEs and provide the business advice. The chairman of National Enterprise Development Authority, Mr. N M Zaheed was the chief guest of the fair opening.The fair was jointly organized by Centre for Agribusiness Development (CAD), SANASA, ACTED and CCA with partial funding from European Union.

Another Attraction in Colombo City; Family Fair Launched at Diyatha Uyana, Battaramulla every Wednesday

Diyawanna Family Fair was opened by  at Diyatha Uyana, Batthramulla on 04th September 2013 as a novel attraction in the Colombo. The Fair is opened for consumers every Wednesday from 11.00 am to 10.00 pm organized by Centre for Agribusiness Development (CAD).  There were 130 stalls from product categories of fruits and vegetables, food products, eco & village products, meat & fish, footwear & leather, kitchen items, textiles, home décor & interior, handicrafts as well as books & educational items. Home garden products, eco friendly products, health and herbal products will also be available in the fair, specially for the people who are more concerned about buying local as well as more healthy products.

The main objective of the launching Family Fair is to develop a direct market platform for food and other products demanded by urban consumers where they can purchase quality products at best price from reliable suppliers. Organizers have also planned specials evening events for kids and families visiting the fair including live music event every day from 6.30 to 9.30  pm. This will be a very good opportunity for peoples to relax themselves in a leisure environment after their busyworking schedules away from hustle and bustle city of Colombo and shop their weekly requirements. In order to provide the consumers with complete market experience, CAD has linked up with major producers and distributors of food and grocery items to sell their products directly from factory to consumers.
