CAD Launch Diyawanna Family Fair on Every Wednesday at Diyatha Uyana, Battaramulla

Centre for Agribusiness Development (CAD) has made all the arrangements to launch weekly consumer fair  named "Diyawanna Family Fair" at Diyatha Uyana, Batthramulla starting from 04th September 2013. Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena will be the chief guest of the opening ceremony which is scheduled to be held at 10.30 am and the fair will be open for the consumers on every Wednesday from 11.00 am to 10.00 pm thereafter. There will be 130 stalls from product categories of fruits and vegetables, food products, eco & village products, meat & fish, footwear & leather, kitchen items, textiles, home décor & interior, handicrafts as well as books & educational items.

This novel idea will be a great opportunity to buy regular requirements of food & household items as well as other requirements for many families and individuals in the area. In order to provide the consumers with complete market experience, CAD has linked up with major producers and distributors of food and grocery items to sell their products directly from factory to consumers. Home garden products, eco friendly products, health and herbal products will also be available in the fair, specially for the people who are more concerned about buying local as well as more healthy products.

The main objective of the proposed Family Fair is to develop a direct market platform for food and other products demanded by urban consumers where they can purchase quality products at best price from reliable suppliers.  CAD has selected all vendors through a careful selection process from small and medium organizations as well as corporate sector to ensure the quality and reliability of the products to ensure that consumers will have “Quality, Reliable Products at the Best Price” at Family Fair.   Centre for Agribusiness Development (CAD) is a organization working with the objective of developing Agribusiness Sector in Sri Lanka by assisting agro entrepreneurs and companies to develop their quality, productivity and efficiency to become more commercial oriented while protecting the environment.

 

CAD will lead a delegation to Food Ingredients (FI) Asia

Center for Agribusiness is organizing a business delegation to Food Ingredients (FI) Asia 2013, “Asia’s Number One Exhibition for Food Ingredients”. CAD to Take Delegation to AgriTech India 2012

CAD, under its market development and capacity enhancement services is planning to organize a delegation to AgriTech India 2012, “One of the Asia’s Leading Exhibition in Agriculture”, with the objective of exposing and facilitating Sri Lankan agribusiness and farmers to latest technology and facilitate market linkages. The exhibition will be held on 25th , 26th  and 27th  August, 2012, Bangalore, India.

CAD Successfully Conducted Seminar on Tax Regulations with Department of Inland Revenue

Sri Lankan agriculture and agribusiness sectors have always been considered as very important sectors in Sri Lankan economy by considering its economic contributions as well as future growth potentials. Accordingly, Sri Lankan tax policies have been developed in favour of the sector development and encourage investments in new production, machinery and processing technologies. Some areas have been given total tax  exceptions while most of other areas given tax concessions and holidays. But unfortunately, these exceptions and concessions have not  been capitalized by most of the agro entrepreneurs and companies due to unawareness and lack of knowledge about the processes.

CAD with Department of Island Revenue has organized a seminar on “New Tax Regulations in Agriculture and Agribusiness Sectors” on 31th May 2012 in Hotel Galadari, Colombo. this  full day seminar  is specially designed for CEOs & senior finance officials in the agriculture and agribusiness sector for awareness, better planning, implementation and enhanced benefits in business through better understanding on Tax regulations and their implications to the agriculture and agribusiness sectors.
